SECURITY TIPS
- Lock your doors and windows, even while
you are inside.
- Use the deadbolt locks, even when you
are inside.
- When answering the door, use the peephole
or door glass to see who is there, BEFORE you open
the door.
- Be careful who you give keys to.
- Don’t
put your name and address on your key ring.
- If you loose
your keys and they don’t
turn up, ask for the locks to be re keyed.
- Dial 911 for
emergencies.
- Check your smoke detector, monthly,
to make sure it is working.
- Immediately report any suspicious
activity in your complex.
- Report any malfunctions in
lock, door or window operations.
- Close curtains at
night.
- Mark or engrave
any personal belongings.
- Lock your windows and doors
when you are gone.
- Tell the Housing Authority Office
when you are going to be out of town for several days.
- Don’t walk alone at night.
- Don’t
hide any keys under doormats or such.
- Have your keys out
and ready when going from car to door or door to car.
- Don’t allow children to play
outside unattended.
