GENERAL HOUSEKEEPING STANDARDS
In an effort to improve the livability and conditions for
the apartments owned and managed by the Mt. Pleasant Housing
Authority, uniform standards for resident housekeeping have
been developed for all Tenant families. The Housing Authority
will exempt Tenants who are unable to perform such tasks
because of age or disability.
Housekeeping Standards: Inside the Apartment
- Entire apartment should be clean,
free of dirt and grease; excessive mildew and mold should
be removed.
- Floors should be clean, clear, and free of
hazards.
- Trash shall be disposed of properly and not
left in the unit.
- Throughout the apartment, including
food storage areas, housekeeping should be such that
it does not contribute to rodent or insect infestation.
- The kitchen should be kept clear of spilled food and
grease. Appliances should be kept clean.
- Storage areas
and closets should be neat and clean. No flammable materials
should be stored in the unit.
Housekeeping Standards: Outside the
Apartment
- Yards should be free of debris, trash,
and abandoned pets. Exterior walls should be free of graffiti.
Nothing should be placed on the exterior walls without
permission from the Housing Authority. Doors should not
be defaced.
- Steps and sidewalks should be clear,
and free of hazards.
- Parking lot should be free of
abandoned cars. There should be no car repairs in the
lots.
